A South Yorkshire entrepreneur  is fulfilling a lifetime’s ambition to run her own kennels and cattery after securing a £300,000 finance package from Santander Corporate & Commercial.

Joanna Latham already runs her own dog sitting and walking business, ‘It’s A Dog’s Life’, and is now expanding the business with the acquisition of an established kennels and cattery business, Breton Country Park Kennels based at High Hoyland Lodge, in Barnsley.

High Hoyland Lodge, built in the early 1800’s as the game keeper’s lodge of Lord Allandale’s estate in South Yorkshire, is located in two acres of field and woodland, so is ideal dog walking territory. The kennels can currently cater for 40 dogs and 32 cats; however, there is substantial room for development as Mrs Latham grows the business.

Mrs Latham  said:

I am thrilled to be purchasing Breton Country Park Kennels and Cattery. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow my business into something sizable. The existing kennels provide a great base on which I can develop my own ideas and ambitions.

Craig Daniels, Relationship Director for Santander Corporate & Commercial, said:

I am delighted to be supporting Joanna with this venture. With Joanna’s established financial services background combined with her passion and enthusiasm for what she does, we are confident that Joanna will make every success of this new business venture. We look forward to building on this relationship going forward.
