Kwik Fit’s Halifax centre  has re-opened after a major refit.

The Halifax centre – which has been refurbished from the garage floor up – was chosen for this investment from Kwik Fit’s UK network of over 600 centres, thanks to the commitment the staff have made in serving the local community.

It is also a sign of the company’s confidence in both the existing strength and potential demand in the area.

In addition to the redesigned reception area, where staff can sit down with customers to discuss their individual requirements, the centre now has specialist laser wheel alignment equipment that allows a car’s four wheels to be aligned as per the manufacturer’s specification.

The centre was officially reopened by the Mayor of Calderdale, Coun John Hardy, who said:

“The investment that the new owners of Kwik Fit have poured into the local centre is very good news for Halifax and its motorists. The town is very fortunate that the company selected the Halifax branch for refurbishment with all the latest technology and equipment over hundreds of others.

“It’s commendable that there’s an apprenticeship scheme in place to give unemployed young people a helping hand by creating jobs and giving them some valuable career skills. I hope young people in Halifax will see the benefit and apply for the programme.”

The centre manager of Kwik Fit in Halifax, Ian Cannings, said:

“It’s given the staff a real boost that our hard work has been recognised, and that our centre has been given major investment.  All the team at Pellon Lane take great pride in our work and now we have a working environment that matches our ambition to deliver the best possible service.

“It’s also good news for the community because we are now armed with top of the range equipment that will allow us to serve our customers even better than before. We are all really excited and can’t wait to get going.”

It’s not just the centre, machines and tools that Kwik Fit has invested in. The company are looking to take on 150 apprentices this year. Any young people in Halifax who are interested in finding out more about the programme can visit: http://careers.kwik-fit.com/apprentice-application-form.asp.
