Supporters of an inspirational charity fundraiser will be able to follow every minute of his epic 2,342 mile UK charity challenge, thanks to a Yorkshire-based GPS tracking provider.
In addition to providing the system for Craig Walter, RAM Tracking will also be making a donation for every new client confirmed during the 29-year-old’s epic journey.
Craig is journeying around the UK from between July 4 and 16 with his two carers, Jody Gabriel and Debs Robinson, to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and Martin House Children’s Hospice, two causes which are very close to his heart.
Taking in a number of UK landmarks, including a trip to 10 Downing Street, Craig’s Charity Drive will be tracked with one of RAM’s GPS devices and his progress broadcast live via an online interactive map for supporters to follow.
Through RAM’s associations, leading fuel card reseller, The Fuelcard Company, has also pledged its support to Craig through provision of fuel for his Challenge. Craig will be presented with a Diesel Advance pre-pay fuel card which he will be able to use along his route.
Diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a condition that causes muscles to waste and weaken at just four years old, Craig has always been a fearless campaigner and as part of his journey will be meeting others with neuromuscular conditions to highlight the inconsistent care provision in different localities across the country.
Craig will undertake the bulk of the mileage in a specially-adapted van but also plans to complete a half-marathon distance in his wheelchair as part of the journey.
Craig’s challenge is the first fundraising drive to benefit from the newly launched RAM Foundation, a charitable giving initiative from RAM Tracking, set up to provide GPS tracking for a variety of charity challenges and trips.
