A pub in the Harrogate village of Kirkby Overblow has been shortlisted in this year’s White Rose Awards.
Following a £60,000 refurbishment, the 16th century Shoulder of Mutton inn – which is run by Kate and David Deacon, has been nominated in the Yorkshire Pub of the Year category.
“We passionately believe in what we’re doing, but it’s always nice when someone else agrees.
“This is a well-deserved pat on the back for our team and for the community we serve. We wouldn’t be here without their support, and we hope they’ll continue to back us all the way to the final judging.”
“We never take anything for granted,’ said Kate, ‘but we hope our dedication to going that extra mile will be reflected in the final result.”
The winner will be announced on November 11 at Leeds’ New Dock Hall.
