HSBC Appoints senior corporate finance manager

HSBC  is  expanding  its  North Leverage Portfolio Management team with the appointment  of  Craig  Hopwood  as  senior corporate  banking manager.

A qualified chartered accountant by training, Craig has a broad background in corporate  finance,  banking and private equity within the North region.

As part  of  his  role  he  will  be responsible for looking after a number of larger  private  equity-backed  businesses across the region, spanning both the North West and Yorkshire. Craig  started  his career with

PricewaterhouseCoopers, including spells in transaction services and corporate finance, and is returning to HSBC having previously  been responsible for the bank’s Leverage Finance team in Leeds.

He  has  spent  the  last six years working for Spirit Capital Partners and Northstar  Equity  Investors,  completing  a  number  of private equity and growth  capital investments. This included taking a number of non-executive

director  roles  on behalf of the investing funds, with a specific focus on business growth and strategy.

HSBC  Yorkshire  Head  of  Corporate  Banking  Martin Lunt commented:
