More tan 60 employees from the NHS Shared Business Services Tingley office competed in yesterday’s Jane Tomlinson Appeal 10K Leeds Charity Run Corporate Challenge, in Leeds City Centre.
NHS SBS employees offered their support to the fundraising activities by participating in the charity run and assisting runners through a range of volunteering activities.
Once the final total of funds has been calculated, NHS SBS will provide a contribution to the funds raised, which will then be donated to the LGI children’s Radiology ward.
This is a cause identified by the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, and means that the funds raised will directly contribute to new waiting room furniture for this important unit.
In what will be its seventh year, the charity run has established itself as a key event for Leeds, attracting around 10,000 runners every year.
John Neilson, Chief Executive of NHS SBS, said:
“I am delighted that so many local NHS SBS employees took part in Sunday’s run. It is for a fantastic cause as it not only raises much needed funds but also reminds us all of the heroic and inspirational Jane Tomlinson.”
