What happens next at Harrogate International Centre (HIC) will be the question put to council and business leaders at a major public event this month.
An open invitation is now being made to everyone in the town to come along to HIC’s main auditorium on Tuesday, September 24 for “Harrogate You Asked Us”, an opportunity to engage face-to-face with those behind the decisions at HIC and the council.
Wallace Sampson, chief executive of Harrogate Borough Council, and HIC director Simon Kent are among key speakers who will take questions and listen to public views on how to create successful and sustainable partnerships between HIC and local business and industry.
Simon Kent said:
“HIC has been running a series of focus groups since May, aimed at various Harrogate industries and since then we keep getting asked ‘so what happens now?’
“The event on September 24 is an opportunity for us to answer that question and any others which business people or residents might want to put to us.
“It’s important that, if we invite busy people to give us their views on how HIC is run, we report back on what action we are taking; that’s why we want everyone who cares about Harrogate’s future to take up our invitation and come along.”
Other speakers will include representatives of the town’s main business sectors such as retail and accommodation.
Previous events have seen members of the region’s business, retail, travel and accommodation sectors invited to HIC to exchange ideas on how to best work alongside HIC to make the most of the millions-of-pounds which conference and event visitors bring into the region each year.
Harrogate You Asked Us will take place in HIC’s main auditorium at 1pm on Tuesday September 24.
Free parking will be available at HIC.
