Brides to be visiting a York hotel’s wedding fair this weekend won’t be the only ones looking to hog the limelight!

For in addition to more than 20 local specialists displaying their individual services, attendees at this Sunday’s Best Western Monkbar Hotel wedding fair will be treated to a hog roast, glass of sparkling wine and goodie bags for the first 70 brides-to-be through the door.

The free event – the hotel’s fourteenth annual wedding fair – will also be an ideal opportunity to find out why the hotel was a finalist in the best venue category in last week’s North of England Wedding  Awards.

Best Western Monkbar Hotel general manager Graham Usher said:

“Our annual wedding fairs are always very well attended and this year will no doubt prove to just as popular.

“We have some superb exhibitors showcasing their own specialities, all with businesses located in and the city.

“And, this year we have the added attraction of a hog roast, which we know will certainly appeal to the bride-grooms-to-be!”

Mr Usher added:

“Since the hotel opened 23 years ago, more than 900 couples have chosen the Monkbar Hotel for their wedding ceremony.

“We now have the added attraction of licences to hold Civil Ceremonies in four function rooms as well the Courtyard, which will be perfect for summer weddings.”

Further details about the wedding fair – which starts at noon and is free to enter – are available from the Best Western Monkbar Hotel website www.monkbarhotel.co.uk or by calling the hotel on 01904 667700.
