A Yorkshire design and digital agency is working with one of the UK’s fastest growing education providers to transform the way teachers work.
Barnsley-based company DMSQD has developed a unique online portal for Cornerstones Education, a company which provides schools with creative and vibrant resources to inspire children.
DMSQD and Cornerstones Education, also based in Barnsley, have created an online resource which easily enables teachers to access resources to bring lessons to life.
The new Cornerstones Hub, offers access to learning materials, videos and structured learning packages.
The Hub is designed to help teachers plan and prepare engaging lessons to meet every requirement of the new 2014 National Curriculum.
Cornerstones is a runaway success story, which has seen its customer base increase more than 40 times in the last two years.
The company had 11 schools on its books when it set up in 2011 and now sells to over 500 schools nationwide. It has also increased its workforce to 26 people over the last couple of years.
The Cornerstones team has commissioned DMSQD to ensure its overall brand strategy fits with the company’s ambitions.
The agency is supporting its client on a number of projects, including the Hub, development of new science modules, a new iOS and Android app and the production of around 50 films for use throughout the online resource.
Mark Asquith, partner at DMSQD, said:
“Our work with Cornerstones Education was far more than just design. Having sat down and understood exactly what issues both Cornerstones and the teachers at its schools were facing, we helped develop the Hub from the seed of an idea into a fully fledged education social network that adds real value to teachers, who are already so busy.”
Cornerstones was established by a team of directors who all worked as headteachers or school advisors for about 20 years previously.
Managing director Melanie Moore said:
“We’re delighted to see such an increase in the number of schools buying into the creative curriculum we offer at Cornerstones.
“The increase in orders meant we’ve been able to re-invest in the business and in creative resources with which to market our extended range of products.
“DMSQD continues to have a holistic approach to our marketing needs.
“We make sure everything we produce is up-to-date with National Curriculum changes and our new marketing collateral including the Hub and everything that follows really helps teachers navigate what’s on offer and enables them to make the best choices.
“As more and more schools are buying in to the creative curriculum we offer at Cornerstones, we knew we needed to develop not just our website but our whole
“We’ve doubled our office space, recruited more members of staff and are working with more schools and we needed to revitalise our website and portal to showcase our work and spread the Cornerstones creative learning philosophy.”
