Potential hazards for employers of staff using social media indiscriminately in the workplace will come under the spotlight at a free employment seminar.

Hosted by Langleys Solicitors in York, “Social media in an employment context” will cover the various ways social media – including Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn – can impact on the relationship between workers and their bosses.

Open to both employees and managers, the seminar will look at the different issues associated with social media for employers and provide an update on recent case law.

Other topics to be covered include how social media can affect a company’s productivity and reputation and its potential to be used in bullying and harassment at work.

Advice will also be given on creating a social media policy.

The seminar is free and takes place on Thursday, 9 January 2014 at Langleys, Queens House, Micklegate, York, 8.30am-11am.
