The Co-operative Food has appointed Mark Draper as a new regional acquisitions manager for the Central and Eastern region.
Mark, from Holmfirth, who has more than 18 years experience in the property sector, will work to identify and acquire new sites for food stores and also opportunities for store relocations.
He will work alongside Paresh Pancholi, who is also a Regional Acquisitions Manager for the Central and Eastern region, which covers from South Yorkshire down to north of the M25, and from Birmingham to East Anglia.
Mark joins from Genting Casinos, where he worked in acquisitions and disposals, and prior to that he worked in acquisitions in the leisure industry for several breweries, including Bass, Greenalls and Hardy and Hansons.
Andrew Coles, The Co-operative Food’s national acquisitions manager, said:
“We are delighted Mark has joined the team, as he brings a wealth of experience in the property sector and he will help us grow the food business across the Central and Eastern region.
“We are committed to our on-going expansion plans across the country through new store acquisitions, extensions and new developments and Mark’s appointment demonstrates our dedication to the region.”
The Co-operative, which opened several new stores across the Central and Eastern region last year, is focusing on stores, on both a leasehold and freehold basis, between 2,000sq ft and 4,000sq ft net sales area, particularly in high street and local community locations.
