New marketing and IT appointments for benenden health

York-based mutual healthcare provider benenden health has appointed three new heads of department across its marketing and IT functions.

Lorna Allan, has been appointed as the new head of IT, responsible for the support and implementation of the organisation’s IT infrastructure.

Lorna, who comes to the organisation with over 20 years of experience in IT across a variety of sectors will be developing IT service delivery for the business and will be responsible for the central IT service desk of the organisation.

Lorna said:

“It is a hugely exciting time to be joining the organisation and I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead.

“My background is specifically in helping to facilitate change within IT service delivery and I’m looking forward to utilising these skills to help improve infrastructure and services at benenden health.

In the Marketing department, Helen Smith has been appointed as the new head of product development and insight – after spending the last 12 months as interim head of sales and marketing for the organisation.

In her new role Helen is responsible for researching and developing new products and services for both benenden health’s core services and its subsidiaries.

Helen said:

“I am very pleased to be appointed the new Group Head of Product Development and Insight at such a crucial time in benenden health’s development.

“benenden health has the potential to be a transformational player in the health and wellbeing market and I am looking forward to working across the group to further our understanding of our members and the wider market and develop the products and services for the future.”

The internal appointment of Paul Keenan as head of communications has also been confirmed this month.

Paul has a wealth of experience across public affairs, media relations and journalism and will be leading on the development and implementation of the communications strategy of the organisation through increasing the profile and influence of the benenden group.

Paul said:

“I’m delighted to be taking on the role permanently.

“The benenden group has a great story to tell both externally and internally and I know that we have the people within the Communications team to ensure we are promoting that message whether it is to politicians, the media or to local people through our community programme and to our own staff.”
