Data security company Egress is celebrating phenomenal business growth and an expansion of its Barnsley operation.
The company, a leading provider of email and file encryption services and software, first expanded its Barnsley operation in 2013.
Over the past 12 months, the business has seen further revenue growth of over 400 per cent and a 95 per cent increase in customers.
After moving into the Digital Media Centre around a year ago, Egress has now upgraded the size of its office to accommodate its new recruits.
Egress co-founder and chief technology officer John Goodyear said:
“We chose Barnsley as our second UK base because of its strong transport links with the rest of the country.”
Business growth has come through its flagship product Egress Switch, a service that provides secure emails, file transfers and web form functionality.
Egress Switch became the first and only UK Government-certified email encryption product in October.
Egress also supplies data security solutions to the NHS, as well as a growing number of local authorities.
John Goodyear has overseen the growth of the Barnsley base together with a number of senior software developers and quality assurance and support engineers.
“This has been a very successful twelve months for Egress and we have thoroughly enjoyed our first year based in the DMC.”
The expansion of the Barnsley office comes after the team based there has more than doubled in last twelve months.
“Being based in the DMC means we have access to top quality facilities that encourage business growth and knowledge flow. Egress is definitely benefitting from expanding in the north.”
Barnsley Digital Media Centre manager Gareth Scargill said:
“Our aim is to support businesses to grow and develop. Egress has just taken the largest office space in the five-storey centre. Not only is the company creating jobs, it is demonstrating that Barnsley is a great place to base and do business.”
