Next month will see the Freemasons at Wiswell hosting a battle of historical rivalry between Lancashire and Yorkshire – where only one county will be victorious.
Now in its second year, The War of The Roses event has evolved to feature four esteemed chefs, two from each region teaming up to secure the title – allowing the rare opportunity to experience different styles of gastronomic cooking under one roof.
Guests will be treated to a six course meal, with each chef cooking one course individually, before pairing up to do a joint course with their team .
Score cards will be handed out at the beginning of the evening, outlining each dish, with points given for each course.
Competing for the title this year are a number of award-winning chefs, all of whom have won critical acclaim from both the industry and the general public.
Steven Smith at The Freemasons and Paul Askew, chef director of London Carriage Works and new restaurant, The Art School, will represent Lancashire, while esteemed chef James Mackenzie, from the Michelin-starred Pipe and Glass, and Charlie Lakin, from The Marquis at Alkham, make up the all-star line-up for Yorkshire.
