Birley Manufacturing helps support graduate employment in the local area, taking on its first new graduate trainee.
Twenty-five-year-old Matt Baxter joins Birley this month following the successful completion of a three year Business Studies degree course at Sheffield Hallam University where he graduated with first class honours.
Birley Manufacturing is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers for interior environments and rail carriage equipment and works with some of the UK’s top names, such as Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, NatWest and First Great Western Trains.
The Sheffield based firm has steadily been strengthening its project management teams and pushing into new market sectors including education and product design.
Matt has been tasked with analysing the Manufacturing Resource Planning System for the company, looking at areas for improvement in order to streamline back office procedures across the whole business.
Matt is a local lad, born and bred in Sheffield and currently based in Hillsborough.
When not at work he enjoys films and reading.
Birley’s MD Steve English said:
“We are always on the look out for fresh, new talent and are delighted to have Matt on board.
“I have no doubts that his enthusiasm and youthful outlook will reap benefits for both Birley and Matt himself, and expect him to go forward and achieve great things.
“It is important that successful, local companies like ours support these talented youngsters that represent our future.”
