Businesses with strong growth plans in Yorkshire are being urged to attend a free event to find out how they can access up to 20 per cent of grant funding.
Business advisers and accountants Clive Owen & Co LLP, is hosting the event about accessing Local Enterprise Partnership funding in conjunction with York/North Yorkshire/East Riding Enterprise Partnership and City of York Council.
The funding, which is backed by the Regional Growth Fund, is aimed at business owners who have under 250 employees and who want to grow their companies by investing in new equipment and creating jobs.
Last week Clive Owen & Co heard it had successfully secured more than £830,000 for their Yorkshire clients – around 22 per cent of the area’s total grant fund.
Terry Doyle, a partner at Clive Owen & Co’s York office, said:
“This is the first real opportunity for businesses in the York area to have access to substantial grant funding.
“Our expertise in this area has already proved invaluable as we’ve helped a number of clients gain significant funds for capital or job creation projects.
“We are eager to talk to more business which may be eligible. We’re delighted to be working with the LEP and York City Council on this event.”
Barry Dodd CBE, chairman of the York, North Yorkshire, East Riding Enterprise Partnership, said:
“Growing businesses create jobs and we want to support them to achieve that growth.
“So far we’ve approved total grants of £1.4million and this is an excellent opportunity for businesses to secure support while it’s still available.”
The event will take place on Tuesday June 17 at the City of York Council’s offices in Station Rise, York, YO1 6GA from 8am-9.30am.
