Dales Care, a charity day centre for independent older people located in the heart of Bedale, is looking for help and support as volunteer numbers have dropped over recent months.
Michelle Sands from Dales Care said:
“Dales Care has been running as a Charity for over 25 years and we have the support and generosity of the local community to thank for our successes , however we now need people more than ever to help us, as the demand increases for our services we need people who can spare a few hours a month to come in and join our friendly team.”
Over one million older people regularly go a whole month without speaking to anyone according to new figures from Age UK.
ales Care’s mission is to tackle the problem of loneliness as we age by providing companionship, along with enjoyable activities & home cooked food 5 days a week for those living in the Bedale and surrounding villages area.
“We are looking for people who can spare a few hours a month to help, we need help in the Kitchen with the preparation of food, serving and the clean up after the lunch service, we also require help in the day centre with the general running of the centre, providing companionship, teas and coffees etc.
“We also need drivers who can deliver Meals on Wheels to older people within the local area.”
