Local relationship bank, Handelsbanken, one of the UK’s fastest growing banks, is expanding its offices in Harrogate.
The bank, which last year announced 19 new branches in communities across Great Britain and now has 189 across the country, has let the first floor of 1 Greengate at Cardale Park, Harrogate, expanding its offices from the ground floor.
Founded in Sweden in 1871, Handelsbanken has over 820 branches in 24 countries, and more than 11,500 employees.
Handelsbanken is a full-service bank with a strong local presence. Its devolved leadership model, which places a firm focus on long-term customer relationships and where decisions are taken close to the customer by experienced branch teams, has resulted in Handelsbanken being ranked top for customer satisfaction in an independent survey for the past six years.
Richard Lally of Handelsbanken said: “We are delighted to be expanding our offices at Greengate, we have been here for 6 years and now need a bigger space for our growing team.
The UK is the fastest-growing of Handelsbanken’s home markets. Next year sees a great demand for expansion in this region as we open a new Yorkshire & North East UK Regional Bank, with its head office in Leeds due to launch in January 2015. The location of Cardale Park is perfect for us, which is why we have decided to stay.”
National property consultants Carter Jonas are managing agent for Greengate with senior surveyor Chris Hartnell overseeing the letting.
Chris said: “We are so pleased that Handelsbanken has been able to expand its team and we have been able to provide the space in a location that they know. Greengate located at Cardale Park is one of Harrogate’s most prestigious out of town office locations.
“Due to Handelsbanken’s move, we now have the ground floor available to let comprising 1,500 sq ft, which would suit any business looking for high quality, fresh and modern office space.”
