Fancy dress specialist Fantasy World is set for further expansion at Clifton Moor, York, following the sale of its original premises in the city.

Owner Justin Heaven has agreed the sale of his former store at Main Street, Fulford. Langleys Solicitors in York acted on the deal for Fantasy World which opened the Clifton Moor store 18 months ago.

Justin, 38, said: “Since taking the unit at Clifton Moor, the business has gone from strength to strength. It has particularly enabled us to grow our online sales – we are shipping items all over the world and see this as an area for further expansion.”

Fantasy World was launched in 1974 by Justin’s grandparents, Lawrence Arkley and Julia Wood. Justin has run the business for more than 16 years, hiring and selling fancy dress costumes and accessories both in store and online.

Emma Warner, commercial property partner at Langleys, said: “Fantasy World is such a well-known name in the York area and a great business success story. We’re pleased to have supported Justin and his team in their expansion and wish them every success for the future.”
