The new manager of a Northallerton opticians and hearing care branch is the youngest in the company’s 170-strong community network.
James Wright, 22, was promoted to the role at Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care in High Street after joining the company last July as a sales advisor at its Bishop Auckland branch.
He said: “I’m delighted to be given this opportunity in Northallerton. I’ve been warmly welcomed by colleagues and customers and I’m looking forward to getting to know more people in the town.”
A former fashion student, James has an eye for style and what suits people. He said: “I enjoy customer interaction and delivering personal customer service. I like to help people find the right frames that they like and which will give them more confidence.”
James is also keen to organise some fundraisingfor Alzheimer’s Society, which Scrivens has chosen as its principal charity of the year.
The Northallerton branch was formerly known as The Hearing Company.
Optical services were introduced in June 2014 to offer eye examinations plus a full range of designer frames alongside its established audiology and hearing aid services under Glyn Cavell.
As part of the improvements, the latest digital eye examination equipment was installed together with a boutique style showroom to showcase designer frames including Gucci, Givenchy and Valentino.
Scrivens Opticians& Hearing Care was established 76 years ago and has 170 branches in England and Wales, with 1,000 employees.
