A Yorkshire residential sales and letting agency has completed another stage in its expansion drive by launching its eleventh branch.

Linley & Simpson has opened the doors of its new office on Harrogate Road in the heart of Chapel Allerton in Leeds after acquiring the fellow independent agent, Hendys.

The deal, clinched for an undisclosed sum, gives Linley & Simpson blanket coverage across North Leeds with the new branch linking in with the company’s long-established bases at Street Lane, Roundhay, and Station Road, Horsforth.

Director of Linley & Simpson, Will Linley, said: “We are delighted to have a dedicated base in this thriving community for the first time, and to have inherited a team of six staff with an unrivalled insight and knowledge of the market there.

“North Leeds remains one of Yorkshire’s most sought-after places to live and opening in Chapel Allerton was a natural progression for us – a final piece in the jigsaw.

“We now have three offices working seamlessly together across this whole area for the benefit of buyers and sellers, landlords and tenants, alike.”

He added: “The name of Hendys has been synonymous with the property market in Chapel Allerton for the best part of two decades – name any road and they will have sold or rented properties there.

“From our prime location, we look forward to building on their track record and ensuring the needs of people in Chapel Allerton are well served for many years to come.”

The new branch will be managed by Daniel Bond, who has worked for Linley & Simpson for four years at both their Ilkley and Roundhay offices.

The acquisition of Hendys, and all of its sales and letting portfolio, is the second since the independent agency secured a £1.8 million funding package as part of a new link-up with Santander’s Breakthrough Programme to help accelerate its strategy for future growth.

Earlier this year it took over the rental portfolio of Leeds Lets, based in Headingley.

Mr Linley added: “We remain on the lookout for more acquisitions in 2015 as we explore ways of consolidating our position at the forefront of best practice, customer service and innovation as the resurgence in Yorkshire’s sales and letting market continues to gather pace.”

The deal caps another successful year for the business in which it has been honoured by The Sunday Times Lettings and Estate Agency of the Year Awards for the fourth consecutive year, most recently for its eye-catching 2014 marketing campaign featuring the iconic yellow Tour de France Jersey on advertising boards around the region.

Linley & Simpson, now in its 18th year, operates 11 branches across North and West Yorkshire – Chapel Allerton, Roundhay, Horsforth, Leeds city centre, York, Harrogate, Ripon, Wetherby, Ilkley, Saltaire and Wakefield.  It employs over 150 staff.
