Members of a pioneering East Yorkshire food network are showcasing the best of Hull and East Yorkshire’s food and drink at an event for chefs and catering managers later this month.
“Adding Value with local Food” A presentation by the East Yorkshire Local Food Network takes place at Hull College on Tuesday May 24 at 2.30 pm.
Head Chef David Nowell from Tickton Grange, Beverley will demonstrate how he uses local ingredients to enhance his menus and Robert Ramsden from specialist produce supplier Delifresh will showcase a wide range of fresh ingredients, many local, which can be delivered daily to restaurants and hotels throughout Hull and East Yorkshire.
Chairman of the East Yorkshire Local Food Network, Graham Ward OBE, said: “Hull will have one million new visitors in 2017. This is a massive opportunity to feed them well, but this may not happen without planning forward. Our members want to work with local chefs and catering managers to ensure we all grow our businesses.
“There will also be the opportunity to talk to local suppliers including Soanes Poultry, Side Oven Bakery, Staal Smokehouse, Elliott Eggs and Taste of Yorkshire and there will be a prize draw for delegates on the day to win dinner for two and a tour of the kitchens at Tickton Grange Hide Restaurant and a voucher for £75 of goods from Delifresh.”
