Youth sport in north Leeds has been boosted by a new initiative to support good causes in the community.
Linley & Simpson, the residential sales and letting agency with a network of four branches in the city, is now batting for Shadwell Cricket Club after agreeing to support its under-11s team with a shirt sponsorship deal.
It has teamed up with the club on Brandon Crescent as part of its wider campaign to develop “home grown” sporting talent at grass roots level. It also extends to raising money to help health charities, schools, and other good causes in the county.
David Mear, branch manager of Linley & Simpson, said: “Shadwell Cricket Club has recently celebrated its very own century – having been at the sporting focal point for the community for more than 100 years.
“More than half the cricket played at the club is at junior level and we are delighted to be able to support the club and its pool of young sporting talent. For many of its senior players, their love of cricket began playing for the under-11s.
“It is from thriving clubs like Shadwell where the Joe Roots and Jonny Bairstows of the future will hopefully come – and we are delighted to play a part in this.”
Linley & Simpson has four branches in Leeds – Roundhay, Chapel Allerton, Horsforth and the city centre. It also has a growing network of seven other branches in the most sought-after places to live across North and West Yorkshire, including Harrogate, Ripon, Wetherby, York, Wakefield, Ilkley and Saltaire.
