It’s that time of year again- festival goers everywhere may be flocking to fields full of mud and dubious loos, but in Sheffield, the Steel City’s biggest taxi firm City are sponsoring the UK’s biggest urban music festival.
City’s business development manager Paul Gosney has been working with festival director Dave Healy and his team to ensure the official pick up and drop off points are available behind a safe and secure protective retractable barrier.
“Our partnership will ensure all Tramlines fans will be both protected while at the festival and get home safely, with the added advantage that traffic will be reduced. Inside the festival, one of our points will also offer free mobile phone charging and bottled water,” said Mr Gosney.
“As a music lover and lifelong Sheffielder, I am a big Tramlines fan myself. It’s a great draw for many music genres and gives Sheffield the most vibrant buzz which gets us talked about on Radio 1’s prime time breakfast show.
“And all credit to the Tramlines team who have done a tremendous job growing this event over the years, putting Sheffield on the map as home to one of Europe’s best metropolitan city festivals.”
