Michael Wright Furniture and Yorkshire Heat Pumps are expanding and have doubled the size of their premises with a move to Follifoot Ridge Business Park, near Harrogate.

These leading renewables and interiors businesses, are owned and run side-by-side by Michael and Kate Wright, and were formerly based in premises at Blubberhouses. They now have their showroom and headquarters in what was once a chicken shed at this thriving and fast-expanding business park.

Michael Wright Furniture is a long-established kitchens and interiors business synonymous with the design and delivery of exceptional contemporary living spaces.

Yorkshire Heat Pumps, which designs and installs renewable energy heating systems, launched in 2013 as a natural extension of the interiors business. Michael was finding more and more homeowners were incorporating environmentally-friendly, energy-efficient heating systems as they enhanced their properties.

Michael said: “We noticed increasingly that customers upgrading their kitchens and living spaces, wanted to go green at the same time. I saw a gap in the market for a company that could deliver a seamless interiors and renewables offering, accompanied by the exemplary customer service for which we were known.

“Our businesses complement each other really well, and we’re delighted they have thrived in these difficult times. In the last year we definitely noticed an uplift as confidence in the economy grew, and now with the economic uncertainty following the Brexit decision, it’s even more appealing to choose cost-efficient heating systems.

“Going green can save money long term with lower operating costs, but can in many cases, more than recoup the cost of the installation through payments under the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive scheme.

“We are very pleased to be opening our doors at Follifoot Ridge Business Park and welcoming customers, new and old, to our showroom.”

More spacious surroundings allow for a larger display of the Italian, contemporary furniture for which Michael Wright is known. The business is the sole outlet in Yorkshire for Effeti Cucine and Arredo3 kitchens, and Giellesse day and night furniture – from sleek contemporary wardrobes to striking fitted day furniture and shelving.

Yorkshire Heat Pumps supplies and installs ground source and air source heat pumps and biomass boilers. Customers can see the biomass boiler in action which heats the premises, and air source and ground source heat pump displays at the showroom. Kate, who’s become something of an authority on the complexities of the government Renewable Heat Incentive scheme, is on hand to answer any questions.

Yorkshire Heat Pumps is an MCS accredited installer of heat pumps and biomass systems and prides itself on the quality of its installations and unparalleled customer care.
