A Yorkshire-based wedding start-up firm has been shortlisted in The British Wedding Awards.
Lisa Steane, founder, designer and creator of bespoke bridal accessories established her business, The Bobby Pin, earlier this year.
Launched from a lifelong passion for not simply fashion design, but the construction behind the product, Lisa was noticed just months after forming in the national awards. Lisa’s designs have been shortlisted in this year’s British Wedding Awards in the Best Bridal Accessories category.
The awards reveal the very best the wedding industry has to offer with categories focusing on all aspects of wedding design. Having pursued a creative career, Lisa successfully worked as a design buyer for a large men’s retailer in Canada before turning her hand to bridal design.
Moving back to the UK, Lisa began a millinery course at Leeds College of art and realised her true calling was bespoke bridal head wear. Armed with her passion behind her she launched The Bobby Pin, to add the wow factor to a brides wedding day, in August this year.
The British Wedding Awards celebrate the UK’s favourite wedding companies as voted for and chosen by real brides. The awards celebrate everything from British bespoke bridal wear, to stationery.
Lisa said: “It is a fantastic achievement to be shortlisted in The British Wedding Awards having only just launched this year. I am up against some tough competition including national brands but I think we are seeing a revival for hand crafted, original items and I am proud that my Yorkshire business is in the running for such a prestigious award!”
Voting for The British Wedding Awards are open until 11:59pm on 20 December at which point the successful winners will be announced.
