A York PR and communications firm is preparing to welcome PR specialists from around the globe to the city this week.
The Partners Group will host the fifth International Public Relations Team (IPRTeam) network conference in York, bringing together PR professionals from Europe, the USA, India, Australia and New Zealand to discuss communications best practice and share knowledge and experience that will help network members develop their individual businesses and also work together to support clients across the globe.
Partners Group director Karen Tinkler chairs the IPRTeam network, which was established in 2001 and has a membership of independent PR and communications agencies in 12 countries across five continents.
Through IPRTeam, SMEs can run publicity campaigns in international markets, working with an agency in their home country and native language, whilst benefiting from ‘on the ground’ market knowledge and expertise from network members around the world.
The Partners Group, which has a team of eight based on The Mount, has been the sole UK IPRTeam representative since 2002. Karen took over as chair in March this year.
She said: “As well as catching up with members old and new, and sharing the latest industry best practice from around the world, I’m also really looking forward to sharing some of York’s sights and culture with everyone.”
Over the last 15 years, Partners has worked with IPRTeam members to support UK-based SMEs at international trade shows, help others announce global acquisitions and launch new products and services into new overseas markets.
The Partners team has also worked with the network’s Australian partner to promote the annual Vivid Sydney festival of light, music and ideas in the UK.
Established in 1988, The Partners Group works with clients in the professional services, manufacturing, food processing, building and construction, tourism and leisure industries throughout the UK, providing PR and communications services.
