Vital Technology Group, the Wetherby-based provider of business IT services, has started 2018 with the appointment of three new members of staff to its technical support team to help further ensure its clients get the most out of their IT infrastructure.

Nathan Hutchinson joins as a technical account manager from a similar position with an IT business in Ripon, where he established and developed a business IT support team to complement their hardware repair business.

Lewis Chapman has been appointed as field support engineer, working with clients both remotely and on-site to support their IT systems and alongside project teams on installations of cutting edge IT systems, backup and disaster recovery as well as hosted telephony solutions.

Finally, helpdesk engineer Stefan Salonga will support customers from the Vital office to resolve technical issues as well as performing routine maintenance, service requests and other IT management functions.

Nathan, 26, lives in Harrogate but grew up in Boroughbridge and attended the town’s High School before studying plant maintenance at Askham Bryan College, in York.

He said: “I’m really happy to have joined Vital because they have an impressive client base which means I’ll be working with major SMEs across the UK. My new post is more than just client relations; I’ll be researching and recommending a whole range of hardware and software to our customers to help them become more efficient, which in turn will help to improve their turnover.”

Lewis, 24, lives in Barnard Castle, County Durham. He went to the town’s Staindrop Academy along with Darlington College and holds a degree in computer science from Teesside University.

Stefan Salonga, 25, lives in Thirsk and has degree in computing from Teesside University. As a helpdesk engineer he will mostly provide telephone support to customers while also helping the end-user to get the most of their IT.

He has spent the past few years working in London Docklands for an MSP (managed service provider) in the financial sector.

Lee Evans, managing director of Vital Technology Group, said: “I’d like to welcome Nathan, Lewis and Stefan to the technical team, which has expanded greatly over the past year in line with our growing client base.

“They bring with them some very impressive interpersonal and technology skills and are already proving to be a valuable asset to the business.”
