The work at Ashville College , which took six weeks to complete, included replacing the existing roof, insulating the cavity walls and painting and decorating the pool house, which is used by pupils, Ashville Sports Club members and a number of local swimming clubs.

It is part of a major £ 5million investment to upgrade and improve facilities on the campus, which includes the opening of the new, £ 750,000, all-weather pitch.

Ashville College Headmaster Mark Lauder said:

Ashville College has a long and proud sporting tradition, and the investment is going to ensure that we have some of the best facilities in the region.

Our facilities are not just used by the pupils, but by a whole host of external organizations, including the highly popular Andrew Flintoff Cricket Academy.
