Two top officials from an international organisation have visited Sheffield from New York to help smooth the way for the increasing number of local businesses trading overseas.
Dave Springsteen and Kimberlee Phelan serve on the international tax committee of HLB, a worldwide network of independent professional accountancy firms and business advisers with representatives in 100 countries.
They were in the city to meet Peter Kennan, a partner with Sheffield based chartered accountants and business advisers Hawsons, and to discuss ways of using HLB’s expertise to further boost opportunities for South Yorkshire companies in the international market.
Hawsons are members of HLB and, through the organisation, have been able to make it easier for their client companies to conduct business globally.
Peter, who chairs HLB’s UK tax group, said:
More and more, our client companies in South Yorkshire are thinking internationally and, through HLB, we are able to help them overcome any difficulties or problems they may have in different parts of the world.
Not many firms in South Yorkshire are able to provide that depth of international capability.
