Harrogate-based data destruction specialists, Advanced Digital Dynamics (ADD) Ltd, is hosting a national seminar on new ruled affecting IT destruction.
Main speaker at the “Meet the Regulators” event, being held on March 14 at Coventry’s Ricoh Stadium, is Alistair Barter, Senior Policy Officer for the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), who will detail the Government’s proposals to toughen up data destruction laws
Other speakers at the seminar include a representatives from the Environment Agency, together with other regulators and data destruction specialists.
Simon Brailsford, sales director at Advanced Digital Dynamics said:
Out with the old and in with the new may seem simple enough, but when disposing of old IT equipment, organisations and businesses need to be very careful to avoid facing hefty fines.
High profile news stories on illegal dumping, toxic waste and leaked data have led to the new regulations and tightening of existing laws. Organisations have a “Duty of Care” to comply with regulations, however many are unaware of what that entails and their IT and data destruction plans may not stand up to scrutiny.
The event is free of charge and spaces are limited. Delegates can book online: www.onsitedatadestruction.co.uk/seminars
