Ripon Race Company it is to replace Totepool with its own RiponBet operation for the forthcoming season.
In partnership with racecourse technology provider Data Tote, Ripon has opted to replace Totepool with the same fixed-odds model adopted by Chester and Bangor throughout last year.
James Hutchinson, Ripon Racecourse MD said:
We were very impressed with the operation at Chester last year, and the opportunity to take ownership of the race day betting experience fits well with our business model here and retains our independence in the supply chain.
We now have a greater control of the service and staffing and the commercial model is also very compelling. We thank the Tote for its years of service at Ripon, but RiponBET means that all the proceeds from race day betting are still retained by the course for reinvestment in to facilities and prize money.
Edwin Osborne, CEO, Data Tote said:
We are delighted to be working with Ripon. James and his team have a very ‘go ahead’ outlook. We believe that racecourses should benefit from the ownership and operation of their own betting rights and using the very latest technology, which includes our unique personal betting tablets introduced to hospitality areas, RiponBET will ensure that racegoers enjoy the best service possible.
RiponBET, will settle winning bets at Racecourse Price (RP) with customers having access to a product suite which embraces all popular bets types, from win only and each-way to Patents, Yankee’s and the Easy Six, a place only bet which runs across the last 6 races at the meeting.
