Solicitors calendar raise £2K for Prince’s Trust

Trainee solicitors have raised more than £2,000 for the Prince’s Trust by selling calendars for 2013.
The team from Langleys Solicitors LLP raised the funds as part of the Million Makers Challenge which challenges teams of employees to help raise £1m for the charity.Fourteen trainee solicitors from Langleys were involved in the challenge which sees participants tasked in turning £1,500 into more cash by setting up and running a mini-enterprise.

Langleys’ team leader from York, Anna Rawlings, said:

Firstly we had to come up with a business plan and pitch this to a ‘Dragons’ Den’ style panel who gave feedback on the idea and ultimately decided to award us the funding. Our idea was to create a “foodie” charity calendar showcasing 12 of the best Yorkshire restaurants.

We’re really pleased with how well the calendars sold and the support we received from across Yorkshire, all to raise funds for a great cause.

Each of the participating restaurants contributed a recipe to form an exclusive collection which allows customers to recreate their favourite restaurant dishes at home.

£2,399 was raised, which The Prince’s Trust will use to assist young people in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
