Recruitment firm Stark Brooks has lured back Mike Smith as associate director at its Yorkshire office just months after he left to join a rival.
Mike, 32, initially joined Stark Brooks in January 2010 as a consultant at its office at Bruntwood’s West Gate building in Leeds city centre, and was appointed regional manager later that year.
He left last December to join a competitor as a divisional manager but has now returned to Stark Brooks and will spearhead the firm’s expansion strategy for the Yorkshire region.
Stark Brooks, which has its headquarters in Manchester, recruits in the UK and abroad for management and executive roles across all disciplines, including finance, sales, human resources and administration.
Its clients range from multi-national PLCs and family businesses to the public sector and professional services firms. Yorkshire clients include Deloitte, Portakabin and engineering firm Cameron.
Mike, who lives in Horsforth, Leeds, and has a financial services degree, began his career at TD Waterhouse and had spells at Capita Group, Michael Page and SF Group before joining Stark Brooks.
“I’m thrilled at the opportunity to rejoin Stark Brooks and look forward to capitalising on the company’s excellent reputation throughout the Yorkshire region.
“Stark Brooks is renowned for its expertise and commitment to client service and I am relishing returning to the business and growing its presence in the Yorkshire market.”
Gron Ffoulkes-Davies, chief executive at Stark Brooks, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Mike back into the business. He will lead our growth plans for the Yorkshire region and will be actively recruiting for additional members of his team.
“Yorkshire is a key market where we have a number of excellent client agreements in place. We remain cautiously optimistic about the growth prospects for the region.”
