Foundation appoints new head

June Forsyth – who has amassed more than 20 years’ experience in customer service, sales and recruitment – has been appointed to head a pioneering new Foundation which will create 40 local jobs across the next 12 months.

Spearheaded by Be Fuel Cards – which supplies BP fuel cards to UK businesses – The Bayford Foundation will run rolling 12 week paid training programmes from the Be Fuel Cards offices in Hunslet, South Leeds.

June, who was previously business development manager for Be Fuel Cards, said:

“As a business based in South Leeds, we recognise the responsibility that local employers have to reach into their community and help.

“The Bayford Foundation is a pioneering programme built around creating sales jobs in the energy industry which will result in long term career opportunities for local people in the energy industry.”

The Foundation will invest up to £5,000 to put each recruit through the training programme and pay them a salary for its duration. Those who successfully ‘graduate’ will be awarded a university recognised NVQ Level 4 qualification, which is equivalent to an A Level – and progress to earn a minimum £16k annual salary.

Launched in 2010, BE Fuel Cards is headed by a senior management team which has amassed over a century of business expertise in positions with The Bayford Group which started life in Hunslet as a local coal merchant in 1919. BE Fuel Cards will run the Foundation’s mix of formal and informal delivery from its offices in Gibraltar House, Bowcliffe Road, Hunslet.
