A Harrogate PR firm has stepped up to the crease to sponsor the kit for a local cricket team.
Different PR, based at Pannal Business Park, has become a sponsor of the Ashville Masters XI cricket team, following an approach from team Captain, Gilmour Coad.
Different PR is run by Richard Chew and David Simister, both former Ashville College pupils, who also help look after the schools public and media relations.
Gilmour, who is house master of Briggs House, teaches geography and coaches sport at the independent school, said:
“This season we have a rejuvenated masters’ cricket team. We have some superb players, who are keen and dedicated, but what we didn’t initially have was a kit!
“Because of David and Richard’s close links to Ashville we asked if they would consider sponsoring the team – and I was bowled over when they said yes.”
Different PR director Richard Chew said:
“This is first time we’re been asked to sponsor a cricket team, and I’m very pleased the approach came from Ashville College.
“Thirty years ago, myself and David were sitting our A-levels at Ashville, we’re very proud to call ourselves Old Ashvillians and of our role with the school today.”
David, who is also a member of the old pupils’ society and is its immediate past president, said:
“I went to watch the team in action and the players looked resplendent in their Different PR-sponsored whites.”
