Emsleys Solicitors is urging local businesses to consider taking on apprentices and offer on the job training.
The firm, which has seven offices across the Leeds area, has taken on two apprentices using the Government’s apprenticeship scheme and says it is a great way to support young people on their career path in a challenging jobs market.
Calvin Steel, 17, joins Emsleys personal injury team from Garforth Academy as apprentice administration assistant.
Isobell England, 20, joins Emsleys estate agency team from the Skills Network in Selby as apprentice lettings assistant.
Both will be working towards their NVQ Certificate Level 2 in Business Administration (Legal Administration) during their year-long apprenticeship.
Andrew Greenwood, senior partner at Emsleys said:
“We are committed to supporting young people in our community and firmly believe in on the job training. Apprenticeships allow young people to train in their chosen career whilst gaining valuable work experience.
“Calvin and Isobell were selected from over 200 applicants for their positive attitudes and ambition.
“We are very much looking forward to working with them and developing their skills and experience over the coming years and are encouraging other Yorkshire businesses to support young people in our community by taking on apprentices.”
