An associate at the Doncaster office of hlw Keeble Hawson is the third member of the firm’s clinical negligence team to be appointed to the Law Society’s expert panel.

Kate Gelder joins partner and head of the clinical negligence team Janet Baker, and partner Georgina Peckett as three of the Law Society’s recommended practitioners in this specialist area of the law.

Janet Baker is also an assessor for the panel.

One of the region’s largest law firms, hlw Keeble Hawson has offices in Leeds, Sheffield and Doncaster.

The clinical negligence team comprising eight solicitors and one legal executive has particular knowledge, skills and experience in handling all types of medical negligence claims – particularly cerebral palsy, cancer and surgical cases.

Joint senior partner Tony Gregory said:

“This latest appointment by the Law Society is recognition for the excellence and expertise of our clinical negligence team.

“Here at hlw Keeble Hawson client work in this area has seen exceptional growth in the last 12 months and this third appointment is testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone in the team.”

The Law Society accreditation is a national guide for members of the public to find recommended legal experts.

All clinical negligence panel appointees must show that they have settled or taken to trial a number of high value and complex medical negligence cases at least three of which must have been worth more than £100,000.
