A high-profile specialist in commercial litigation and international trade is joining hlw Keeble Hawson.
Amassing two decades of experience with global and UK practices including DLA Piper and Hill Dickinson, Giles Searby will join as a partner and be based at law firm’s Commercial House premises in Sheffield.
The appointment of Mr Searby, who is also President of Sheffield & District Law Society and chair of the Sheffield City Region LEP’s Sector Group for Professional Services, marks a hat trick of partner appointments for hlw Keeble Hawson in as many months.
Experienced corporate lawyer Michael Cantwell and property litigation specialist Philip O’Loughlin recently joined the Leeds office. The firm has also promoted three associates to partners in the last two months.
Ron Whitlam, hlw Keeble Hawson senior partner, said:
“Giles is a highly respected litigator whose commercial expertise in key areas including manufacturing, IT and international trade is a great asset to our firm.
“His standing among the region’s business community speaks volumes and we look forward to the value he will undoubtedly add to our team.”
Giles Searby said:
“hlw Keeble Hawson’s track record as one of the biggest law firms in Yorkshire – coupled with its commitment to the region – are among the reasons I was attracted to the practice. It’s tremendous to be joining as the practice continues to grow from strength to strength in size and reputation.”
