Specsavers Opticians at Crystal Peaks, Sheffield have welcomed a visit from Shogo San from Nidek Japan following the installation of more than £250,000 of Nidek equipment.
The Opticians, which is currently one of the top Specsavers practices in Yorkshire and the UK, recently purchased a £120,000 state of the art NIDEK SE9090 lens edger and robotic handling unit, which will significantly improve the quality, consistency and volume of the lens processing in the practice.
Specsavers at Crystal Peaks are one of only a handful of opticians in Yorkshire to have installed the industrial standard piece of equipment and Mr Shogo visited the practice to see the equipment in action.
Gil Vasey, director at Specsavers Opticians at Crystal Peaks said:
“The NIDEK SE9090 is a fantastic piece of equipment and we are very pleased to have it installed in store.
“Mr Shogo visited just two opticians during his visit to the UK so it was a great coup for us that he chose to visit Specsavers at Crystal Peaks.
“We are continually investing in our practice and ultimately enhancing the customers experience.
“The new equipment will vastly improve the quality and volume of lenses we are able to process each day and as it is an industrial machine rather than a retail machine it has a much improved life span which is excellent.
“We are delighted to be able to provide our patients access to the most state of the art equipment when they visit out practice.”
