Hiring an apprentice is about to get a whole lot easier for Barnsley businesses, thanks to a new free service which launches on Friday.
First for Apprenticeships Barnsley is being unveiled at The Core, and aims to help small and medium sized businesses find the right apprentices and training providers for them.
The impartial agency will act as a mediator for candidates, businesses and training providers and will offer Barnsley employers advice and support in accessing the most suitable services for them.
Local businesses are invited to the official launch at 11.30am at The Core, County Way, where speakers will be explaining the benefits of apprenticeships and talking about their experiences before a buffet lunch is served.
Heather Lord, apprenticeship hub manager, said:
“Apprenticeships offer businesses an excellent way of finding and training new staff, but the myriad of providers and courses can sometimes seem like a minefield.
“First for Apprenticeships Barnsley takes the headache out of the process for employers and will help to ensure that both businesses and apprentices get what they need out of an apprenticeship programme.
“We encourage anyone considering taking on an apprentice to come along to the event on Friday and find out how we can help them get started.”
