Calderdale law firm announces expansion

One of Calderdale’s leading law firms has announced its expansion following the take-over of a solicitor’s practice.

Wilkinson Woodward, which has offices in Halifax and Huddersfield, has acquired Bearders Solicitors which currently operates from offices in Halifax and Brighouse.

The move, which is part of Wilkinson Woodward’s continuing plans to expand in Calderdale, will take the number of staff employed by the growing legal practice from 75 to 86.

Managing director of Wilkinson Woodward, Maureen Cawthorn said:

“Like Wilkinson Woodward, Bearders is a long established legal practice with a reputation built on trust and exceptional customer service and we’re delighted to welcome them to the fold”

Richard Smithies, senior partner at Bearders, said:

“Bearder’s has been providing legal services to communities across Calderdale for almost a century. Through our new relationship with Wilkinson Woodward, we look forward to continuing our tradition of trusted service for generations to come.”

Staff based at Bearder’s current premises in Halifax will move to Wilkinson Woodward’s offices in the town later this month, while staff at the Brighouse office will continue to operate from their premises in King Street under the name of Wilkinson Woodward Bearders.
