Women in Business Group pulls in the experts to share skills

A group which aims to inspire and support working women across Barnsley and Rotherham will showcase some of the region’s female professional talent at a one-off event tomorrow.

Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber Women in Business Group will bring together a collection of experts from some of the region’s leading firms to share advice, tips and best practice with business people from across the area.

Covering subjects like social media marketing, PR, employment law and pensions changes, the Women in Business group’s Business Surgery event will help those in business to keep on top of their game.

The two-hour session will encompass presentations from five local experts, a surgery session where experts will be available for one-to-one questions and an opportunity for networking.

Jackie Freeborn, chair of Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber Women in Business Group, said:

“We’re all about championing the skills and talents of women in business across Barnsley and Rotherham so a business surgery seemed like a perfect vehicle to demonstrate the expertise of professional women in our area and also to help others increase their knowledge.’

“Anyone involved in business  – male or female – who wants to refresh their knowhow and skills will be very welcome.

“We’ve got some excellent specialists who’ve agreed to give up their time for free and I’m sure those attending will take back some valuable knowledge to the office.”

Speakers include representatives from Irwin Mitchell, Allotts Chartered Accountants, Cream Consultancy, CQ Marketing Services and Mitchells People Solutions.

Tickets costs £8 for Chamber members (£10 for non-members) and includes refreshments. The event, which is to be held at Brinsworth Academy of Engineering, Sheffield Road, Rotherham, starts at 4pm and finishes at 6.00pm.
