Ashville Sports Centre has invested more than £20,000 on new weight-training equipment.
The club, located on Harrogate’s Yew Tree Lane, has swapped a number of fixed machines for a wide range of weights which has resulted in freeing a large amount space in the centre’s Fitness Suite.
The new equipment includes a Hammer Strength Power Rack, a dual adjustable pulley and a range of dumbbells and Olympic weights.
Ashville Sports Centre’s leisure operations manager Patrick Muir said:
“We have moved over from fixed machines to free weights meaning members can now do functional exercises by moving their bodies freely like the way they were designed to”.
The new kit will also aid Ashville College’s sports teams, ensuring they will be much better physically prepared for forthcoming matches and tournaments.
The Sports Centre, which has more than 1,000 members, has also added a Functional Training Zone in one of the sport’s halls. This area contains cutting-edge pieces of fitness equipment, including TRX suspension and rip trainers, battle ropes, kettlebells and sandbags.
The functional training zone area is open to members throughout the week with fitness instructors on hand to offer professional advice and encouragement when people workout.
