Retailers in Bedale are the next in line to get a helping hand in the run up the Christmas.
They are being invited to attend workshops to learn how to boost shops sales – by putting the “wow” factor into their window displays.
Hambleton District Council is working with Bedale and Villages Community Forum on the sessions next month.
Forum Chair, Yvonne Rose, said:
“Bedale has as a great mix of independent shops with great ideas for Christmas, but retail is intensely competitive these days.
“Drawing customers into a shop with a festive window display to browse and chat to the shop owner beats the internet anyday!
“And you get to take your presents home – no waiting for delivery.”
The workshops will be delivered by Helen Goodwin of “Made You Look!” – who has worked with small independent retailers as well as large national chains and garden centres.
Her workshops normally cost £175 but Hambleton District Council – under its Business Friendly agenda – and the Bedale and Villages Community Forum – are charging a one off payment of just £30.
This covers both workshops and includes a buffet supper.
The workshops are open to all Bedale retail businesses and other businesses which have displays they want to improve and stand out.
The workshops take place at Bedale Hall on November 13 and November 18 from 3.45- 8pm
Places are limited – booking is essential. To book log on to www.hambleton.gov.uk/payonline and choose Bedale Retail Display Workshop or call 01609 767186
