A driveway could be mistaken for a Seat dealer’s forecourt as five members of the same family own new cars made by the young-spirited Spanish carmaker – and all sold by the same Huddersfield sales executive.
Earlier this year Louise Barkes, 45, her sister Caroline McDonald, 48 and then Louise’s husband Dennis, 59, all snapped up sporty Seat Leons in the space of the month.
Now Caroline’s son, Josh, 19, and Dennis’s son, Andrew, 32, have splashed out on Seat Ibiza Tocas within two days of each other.
Seat UK sold more cars during September 2013 than in any other month in its 28-year history.
The 8,498 registrations recorded in September 2013 is a 9.8 per cent improvement on Seat’s previous best ever month, which was September 2012.
The record-breaking month also caps off a stunning third-quarter performance for the company, which is not only its best third-quarter, but its best quarter ever.
Seat sold 12,716 cars between the beginning of July and the end of September – 421 more than it sold between April and June 2013, its previous record quarter.
Back-to-back record quarter sales follow the announcement of the company’s best ever half year performance, set between January and June 2013 with 22,752 registrations.
The encouraging statistics means Seat UK is well on course to smash its yearly sales record.
Indeed, since 2008 Seat has defied the economic climate by registering year-on-year sales volume and market share increase.
