Yorkshire letting agent Linley & Simpson has marked the end of 2013 as a year of expansion by completing another acquisition.
It has taken over the rental portfolio of two of the three branches run by another independent letting agent, Walter Ingham, in the sought-after towns of Ilkley and Skipton.
Inghams will continue to operate as a residential letting agent from the headquarters it will retain in nearby Bingley.
The deal – completed for an undisclosed sum – marks an unprecedented fourth acquisition this year for Linley & Simpson.
The new portfolios will be merged into its Ilkley branch, creating the platform to extend its market share throughout Yorkshire’s picturesque Wharfe Valley.
Founding director Will Linley said:
“This year – our 16th – has been characterised by a planned programme of growth to strengthen our position as Yorkshire’s leading letting specialist.
“We are delighted to end the year with the acquisition of this portfolio from Inghams, which form a natural ‘fit’ for our existing branch in Ilkley.
“We remain on the lookout for more acquisitions in 2014 as we explore ways of consolidating our position at the forefront of best practice, customer service and innovation in a thriving letting market.”
Previous acquisitions completed by the independent agency include those of Leeds-based Castle Estates; Carringtons property management in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire; and Move2, which paved the way for the opening of its 10th Yorkshire office in the World Heritage Site village of Saltaire.
Earlier this month, Linley & Simpson unveiled plans to launch its own residential sales department across its network of 10 Yorkshire offices after a successful pilot scheme.
