Harrogate hairdresser honoured for his services to the industry

Harrogate hairdresser Joseph Ferraro has received the ultimate accolade from his peers after being presented with a top industry award.

The award-winning stylist, owner of Halo Hair and Beauty, has been made a Fellow with Honours by leading industry organisation the Fellowship for British Hairdressing.

At a glittering luncheon at London’s Dorchester Hotel Joseph was presented with the award by Fellowship President Errol Douglas MBE.

Nominated by his hairdressing peers for services to the hairdressing industry, Australian-born Joseph is overjoyed with the honour.

Joseph, two-time North Eastern Hairdresser of the Year finalist and former member of the Fellowship’s F.A.M.E Team (Fellowship Academy for Merit and Excellence), said:

“The Fellowship for British Hairdressing Awards are unique in that the winners are nominated and chosen by fellow hairdressers.

“It is very special for me to know that my peers in the industry acknowledge the hard work and commitment that I put into my profession,” said Joseph, a regular at London Fashion Week and Salon Stylist 2013 finalist.

“It is vitally important to give back to an industry that has given me so much, and to help inspire and educate young stylists of the future.”

A Fellow with Honours, awarded by the Fellowship, recognises a hairdresser who has made an ‘outstanding contribution’ to hairdressing.

As well as working in his Leeds Road, Harrogate, salon, Joseph runs training and education seminars and workshops for the Fellowship across the UK, and promotes the group’s ClubStar team for young hairdressers aged between 16 and 25 years.

One of his stylists, Kirstie Bowdin, is a current member of ClubStar’s Art Team. She beat off tough competition from stylists across the UK to win her place as one of the country’s top six young hairdressers.
