-based (HSTV) has been honoured by Disney.

The company picked up Best Innovative Product of the Year Award for Stompeez – and was also nominated in the New Licensee Award – at the inaugural Walt Disney Company UK & Ireland 2013 Licensee Awards.

The ceremony took place on Wednesday night at a gala dinner held at the exclusive Hurlingham Club in London.

High Street TV sold 750,000 pairs of Stompeez in 2013, with an additional 250,000 pairs of Disney themed slippers in the last three months of the year, generating over £2.5 million of sales.

These sales were generated from retail giants Argos and ASDA with the products also available in BHS, WH Smiths, Boots and other retail partners.

Executive chairman Andrew Malcher, said:

“We are thrilled to have been recognised by Disney and this award win clearly shows that our multi channel approach is helping to drive sales for leading retailers and established brands by ensuring consumers can buy products when and how they want.

“We now look forward to working with Disney to develop and add new characters to the range.”

Lisa Fawcett, product director, said:

“This award recognises the time, effort and sheer determination by the team at HSTV to work to tight deadlines which has resulted in delivering a successful product and contributing to positive sales.”
