Bespoke sofa manufacturer, Delcor is celebrating 600 years of employee service this spring!
That is the combined length of service the company’s 47- strong workforce has notched up.
Owned and managed by husband and wife team Rick and Janet Petini, Delcor was originally formed over 40 years ago, before Rick and Janet took to the helm in 2009.
“In an age when people are constantly changing jobs, we’re extremely proud to have such a loyal and long-serving team of employees.”
With five showrooms across the UK, including Harrogate and the Kings Road in Chelsea, Rick has taken the company to an impressive £3.5 million turnover since he bought the business five years ago.
Now his son Matthew is following in his footsteps, currently undertaking a 15 year training programme while also working as a quality control supervisor on the factory floor.
Rick and Matthew are not the only father and son team to grace the company’s headquarters.
Graham Barrass and his son Kane work together with Graham being a skilled upholsterer and Kane currently training to be one.
Cutter Steven Powell knows a thing or two about loyal service, since joining the company aged 16 in 1982.
“Each day is completely different so it’s always interesting and never boring.
“I get to work with all kinds of fabrics and leathers and more importantly I work alongside some really great people who have been here for a long time too.
“It really is just an extended family.”

“Some of our skilled craftsmen have been working with us since they left school – and are still with us now, approaching their half century birthdays!

“Every item can be made to customer’s individual specifications, so height, depth, length, arm width , the list continues – every piece of furniture is completely unique to each customer.”
